The Chinatown Health Fair is an annual event, and the main goal of the Asian Health Caucus Booth is screening for and providing information about dementia. Volunteers serve the community by administering a short, cognitive test that screens for early signs of dementia and also providing information about dementia and caregiving for families with dementia. A neurologist is also there to consult with the visitors about their testing results. Volunteers must first attend a training session which will include an introduction to their research, the community, and dementia, what the event will look like on that day, and training to administer the neuropsychological assessment that they will use at the fair. In the past, this session was held on a weekday evening; check this website for updates on a set time.
