DIRECTOR OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS
Molecular and Cell Biology and Chinese
It's been so exciting to see VHIO grow and evolve over the years - four years has not been enough! I don't know how to succinctly describe all of the ways VHIO has helped me grow. In the past, I've been described as being "most likely to be recognized by her sneeze" and also "most likely to steal dirt from a Han dynasty emperor's tomb." Please feel free to reach out if you want to grab boba with me (...Asha preferred)!

SENIOR ADVISOR/ PROGRAM ANALYST
Molecular and Cell Biology and Nutritional Sciences and Toxicology
I joined VHIO as a freshman in the hopes of using my trilingual skills to serve the Chinese immigrant community in the Bay Area. I was raised in San Francisco in an immigrant household and witnessed how many hoops immigrants had to jump through to access resources that were readily available to English-speakers. The generous volunteers who helped my family when we were in need inspired me to commit myself to community service. Being with VHIO for so long also taught me that the forefront of healthcare isn't just in hospitals and clinics, but also all the admirable efforts to educate and empower community members to make everyday healthy living choices.
In my free time, I like to watch Chinese dramas, sip on boba, and explore SF.
SENIOR ADVISOR / DIGITAL MARKETING COORDINATOR
Economics
Hello! I'm Kelly, and I recently graduated from UC Berkeley. VHIO has been such a wonderful platform for building connections with passionate peers and exploring issues in healthcare, culture, and community service. Serving as an officer and director in VHIO in the past allowed me a direct role in working with community organizations to provide service to patients and developing meaningful experiences for our student volunteers. I am excited to be involved in VHIO's continued growth. In my free time, I enjoy supporting Bay Area professional sports teams and over-analyzing sitcoms.
